Fort Ridgely letter, 1857 July 24.

A handwritten letter by a soldier, Albert Munn [?], at Fort Ridgely (Minnesota Territory) to "Lizzie" (July 24, 1857). Accompanied by a typed transcription. In the letter, Munn relates that his company will be leaving Fort Ridgely for Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, and then possibly on to Utah. Munn may have served in the 10th Infantry Regiment which was stationed at Fort Ridgely in 1856 and 1857 before being ordered to Utah.
